Fun with Grandpa and Grandma

My parents came to visit at the beginning of December to see Ian, and I guess to see us too of course ;) It was fun to have them stay with us and gave us a chance to do some fun things. It seems like whenever we have family visiting we experience EXTREME weather, and this time was no different. They arrived just in time for our 'Arctic Blast' and man was it cold! Luckily we went to Zoo lights before it got SUPER cold. We had fun looking at the lights and riding the train. Grandma bought the kids these cool glasses that when you look at the lights show different patterns in the glow. Brayden chose an alien theme (and when he wore them HE kinda looked like the alien ;), Audri got the hearts, and Makenna the party theme. We bundled Ian up in the the sling and it was hard to tell that he was even there. He stayed nice and toasty, I love that sling!
(Sorry these pics are mostly blurry...it was hard shooting in the dark with no photographic skills and a sub-par camera!)

Saturday we went and picked out our Christmas tree. My parents have never had the privilege of picking out and cutting down your own tree, even if it's only from a tree farm. They were amazed at how little we pay for a nice tree, when they pay lots of $$ for a tree on a lot in NJ. We had fun hunting through all the trees to find the perfect one. The kids had fun with Grandma and Grandpa as we found one, decided, and the sawed to our hearts content. It was nice to have them around to share in one of our little families traditions.

We had so much fun with Grandpa and Grandma. They also came for Ian's blessing, but that will be pictures for another post. As usual I realized too late that I didn't take enough pictures...I really need to be better about that! We are so glad you came to visit us, and we love you, and miss you when you're not here!

We tried to go to Zoo Lights with Gramma & Grampa one year and the line of cars to get in was clear out onto the highway. So we turned around and visited the temple instead. But it was bitterly cold so I was secretly glad we didn't go to Zoo Lights. I'm glad the grandparents got the Oregon Christmas tree experience! YAY!

How nice of you to have Ian a month before Christmas so when your parents came they could enjoy traditional Oregon festivities! The glasses at the zoo look super cool, glad you guys had fun and stayed warm.
