We finally had a break from rain and took advantage of the beautiful weather Saturday to find our Christmas tree! We went to the same little U-cut farm we did last year where it's any noble (the best kind of tree, by FAR) for $20. Brayden REALLY just wanted to go to some little stand in the grocery store parking lot, but we figured out it was just because he was afraid of getting all muddy...soooo after a trip to Fred Meyers for a much 'needed' pair of goulashes he was ready to roll and ok with the 'muddy' place. It didn't take us too long to narrow it down. The nice thing about our house is we have big vaulted ceilings, so we need a pretty tall tree to take up the space. We found some good ones, and made our pick. Jeremy set to work sawing it, and then we shouted 'timber'! After dragging it to the road to be picked up by the tractor guy, I counted the rings and saw that we picked about an 8 year old tree. Not bad! The kids enjoyed hot chocolate and cookies in the back of the car while the trees were loaded on the car. After we got home, we got it in the stand let it sit outside for a little while so the bugs could all find new homes. The kids did a great job decorating. Makenna was curious at first, but after having four people tell you no at the same time often enough...even the most fun things lose their appeal. :)

Fun! Fun! Maybe next year will go for the real tree just for the experience.
